V8 Growth Labs Program kicks off with Five Finalists

V8 Ventures Group is excited to announce the first set of finalists for its Growth Labs program. The program is designed to help young technology companies build and grow their businesses, accelerating growth through improved access to capital and expanding their business development capabilities.

This cohort consists of 5 early-stage companies focused on providing innovative and disruptive technology solutions. The participating companies were selected from a large group of businesses across the continent. The first cohort will be selected from the Finalists on the 27th Aug 2019 after pitching their businesses to potential investors and seasoned tech entrepreneurs. Selected companies will then be fully integrated into the Growth Labs program and will receive hands-on mentoring in entrepreneurship, business strategy and marketing from top subject matter experts. The panellists at the Finalist Presentation include:

Maya Horgan Famodu is the Founder of Ingressive Capital, a firm focused on providing pre-seed and seed-stage funding for tech businesses in the B2B sector in Africa. Ingressive’s portfolio includes Paystack, Tizeti, 54gene, Bamboo and many more high-growth startups.

Rapelang Rabana is a technology entrepreneur and founder of Rekindle Learning, a learning technology company based in South Africa.

Ugo Okoye, Founding Partner at V8 Ventures Group. He is also the CEO and Founder of iConcepts, a leading VAS and mobile marketing firm.

Bukola Bankole is a partner at TNP, a law firm, where she provides advisory services to investors, fund managers, financial service providers and investee companies within West Africa. She also has extensive experience with providing business growth advisory services for FinTech companies in Africa.

Speaking about the initiative, Tobi Oke, Founding Partner of V8 Ventures Group and Managing Partner of V8 Capital Partners said, the V8 Growth Labs program was birthed out of the need to create sustainable technology businesses in a growing tech ecosystem and improving access to capital for innovative African companies. We are excited to finally start this journey with early-stage companies. Selected businesses will enjoy rapid and immersive mentoring, coaching and a cash investment over a three to six-month period. V8 Capital Partners will also provide opportunities for the cohort to get increased investor exposure, relevant industry contacts and professional assistance in key areas that will help speed up the path to success.
